Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and personable Assistant Café Manager to join our team! In this role, you’ll support the Café Manager in the day-to-day operations of our coffee shop, ensuring exceptional customer service, a welcoming atmosphere, and smooth team coordination. You’ll help lead a passionate staff, maintain quality and consistency in everything we serve, and play a key part in driving both team morale and business growth.
Ideal candidates will have experience in café, restaurant, or retail management, and a genuine love for great coffee, great people, and creating a place customers love to return to.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Café Manager in daily operations, including opening/closing, scheduling, and task delegation
- Lead by example to ensure high standards of customer service and hospitality
- Help train and mentor team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and help reduce waste
- Operate and troubleshoot POS systems to ensure smooth, accurate transactions
- Assist in hiring and onboarding new staff
- Provide feedback to team members and support performance growth
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all health & safety regulations
- Help plan and execute promotions or seasonal specials
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in café, food service, or hospitality management preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Comfortable with POS systems and basic sales reporting
- Knowledge of inventory control and ordering
- Passion for quality coffee, good food, and outstanding customer service
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Friendly, approachable, and team-oriented
