Responsibilities:
- Create a safe, caring, and engaging classroom where every child feels valued.
- Lead a classroom team and maintain consistent routines, expectations, and quality care.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons using Teaching Strategies, Learning Beyond Paper, and Trigon Learning Library.
- Foster independence, creativity, and confidence through play-based and project-based learning.
- Use Playground to manage communication, attendance, and classroom documentation.
- Partner with families to support each child’s growth and development.
- Step into different classrooms as needed while maintaining strong leadership and continuity.
Requirements:
- CDA (Child Development Associate) or higher in Early Childhood Education.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a licensed childcare setting (toddlers/preschool experience strongly preferred).
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within a set timeframe).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and meet Bright from the Start requirements.
- Strong classroom management, lesson planning, and team leadership skills.

Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating diverse teaching methods and learning technology to meet individual student needs.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques, creating a safe and supportive environment for children with varying abilities.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing and formative evaluations to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with specialists such as speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other professionals to support children with autism, developmental disabilities, or special education needs.
- Lead the creation and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring specialized support, ensuring goals are met through targeted interventions.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, deaf education, Montessori methods, or other specialized areas to enhance teaching practices.
- Foster strong communication with families regarding child progress, behavioral health, early intervention strategies, and classroom activities to promote child welfare and family engagement.
Qualifications
- Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or preschool settings with a focus on working with children from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated expertise in classroom management, behavior management, and child development principles.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities; familiarity with speech therapy techniques is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and Montessori or similar educational philosophies.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, families, and external specialists.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate learning technology and adapt to various learning styles.
- Certification or licensure in early childhood education or special education is preferred; ongoing professional development in behavioral health or childcare is a plus.
