Qualifications:
- Prior high school and/or college basketball experience preferred.
- Prior basketball coaching experience at the middle school or high school level
- Ability to participate in a district-wide basketball program as necessary
- Must possess the knowledge and ability to teach basketball techniques and strategy
- Must possess the knowledge and ability to enhance skill development in athletes
- Must possess the ability to represent the Wayland Union District in a positive manner and implement MHSAA rules and policies of the Wayland Union Board of Education
- Must have (or be willing to obtain) and maintain CPR/AED/first aid training and concussion training
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Instructing athletes for competition, by teaching technique and promoting team building
- Represent the Wayland Union District in a positive and professional manner when dealing with opponents, officials, players, parents and spectators
- Schedule practices and events
- Organize, motivate and supervise athletes
- Monitor athlete academics
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff and students
