Gaftek, Inc., an employee owned company, is a leading provider of petroleum equipment installation and service across New England. We specialize in the construction, installation, and maintenance of fuel systems for gas stations. We're seeking a skilled and safety-driven Electrician to join our growing team.
As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the safe and compliant installation of electrical systems supporting petroleum equipment such as dispensers, tank monitoring systems, submersible pumps, and canopy lighting. This is a hands-on field role requiring travel to job sites and coordination with other trades.
Responsibilities:
- Install and troubleshoot electrical wiring and systems in compliance with NEC, state, and local codes
- Work on petroleum-specific electrical components (e.g., Veeder-Root, dispensers, ATG systems)
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Install conduit, panels, switchgear, lighting, and grounding systems
- Ensure all electrical work supports environmental and safety regulations
- Collaborate with foremen, project managers, and other technicians on job sites
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean job site
- Complete documentation and service logs as required
Qualifications:
- Licensed Electrician (Master or Journeyman). Ability to reciprocate in neighboring states helpful!
- Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical work
- Experience operating a bucket truck
- Experience with petroleum systems or hazardous locations (Class I Div 1/2) is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and relevant safety standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willingness to travel to job sites (some overnight travel may be required)
- Must pass a background check
- Must be authorized to work in the US
