Position Overview
Contractors will support daily fiber network operations including:
- Fiber optic customer drops
- Residential fiber installations
- Drop bury and trenching operations
- Fiber splicing support
- Documentation and reporting of completed work
This is a production-based opportunity. There are no set hours. The more work you complete and the more jobs you accept, the greater your earning potential.
Responsibilities
- Complete residential fiber drop installations and activations
- Perform trenching and drop bury operations safely and efficiently
- Support fiber splicing and network maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot installation and service-related issues in the field
- Maintain communication with office staff, project managers, supervisors, and other field crews as needed
- Ensure all work meets company and customer quality standards
- Accurately document completed work, materials used, and project details
- Follow all safety procedures and industry best practices
- Maintain accountability for assigned work and deadlines
Qualifications
- Experience with fiber optic installations, customer drops, trenching, drop bury, or telecommunications construction preferred
- Knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure and splicing practices is a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent time management and accountability
- Ability to maintain professional interactions with customers and team members
Equipment
Contractors should ideally have their own tools, equipment, and vehicles. However, if equipment is a concern, we encourage you to discuss available options during the interview process. We are committed to helping qualified crews and subcontractors succeed and grow.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical field work throughout the day
Compensation
- 1099 Independent Contractor Position
