Overview
We are seeking a self-motivated, friendly, and confident in-house employee with a warm and positive personality to join our Patient Relations Team. Prior experience in a medical practice with understanding of medical terminology and radiology experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be independent, detail oriented, and committed to making the patient experience exceptional in every way.
Primary Responsibilities
- Greeting and directing patients
- Scheduling patient appointments and making reminder calls
- Informing patients about delays and waiting times
- Accurately obtaining patients’ addresses, contact details, insurance information, and medical histories
- Updating and verifying patient information at every visit
- Assisting patients in filling out patient history forms, consent forms, and payment contract forms, when necessary.
- Receiving and processing cash and credit card payments for medical services rendered
- Answering, investigating, and/or directing patient inquiries or complaints to the appropriate medical staff member
- Obtain orders and clinic notes for outpatient diagnostic testing and other services as needed
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Obtain deductible and coinsurance amounts
- Manage multiple incoming/outgoing calls.
- Working independently and as a team to provide our patients with the outstanding service we strive to provide.
Requirements
Degree
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience
- Prior receptionist and/or customer service experience preferred
- Experience in radiology workflow is preferred
- Understanding of Medical terminology preferred
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Attention to detail
- Clerical or administrative experience a plus
- Knowledge of health care terminology helpful
- Basic computer program knowledge
