Job Summary
New Horizons Day Camp features over 100 unique activities spanning across a variety of different areas, including sports, STEM, performing arts, swimming and much more! NHDC also features customizable schedules, allowing campers to build their perfect summer!
Highly specialized counselors, a 3.5 to 1 staff ratio, and engaging off-season training creates a unique camp environment for both campers and members of our staff. Every activity and grade group is led by an 18+ Head Counselor with professional educators leading nearly all of our major activity areas.
Counselors will be able to grow and develop their personal skill-set while enjoying an amazing summer experience, including daily break periods, life-long friendships, staff events, and a fully-air conditioned facility for our indoor activities.
All positions are salary-based and compensation varies based on experience. Staff are also eligible to receive tips from campers.

Video Game Design/STEM Instructor (18+)
- Educate campers in Video Game Design.
- Create engaging lessons for campers to create their own video game and/or animation.
- Lesson plans for summer
- New Horizons STEM activities include Robotics, Engineering, 3D Printing, Model Rocketry, Video Game Design, Drones, RC Cars, Environmental Science, Cooking, Pinewood Derby, Digital Photography, and more!
- Ensure that all campers are safe and learning valuable information about STEM
- Previous Video Game Design experience required
- Must Be available 8:45am-3:45pm Weekdays Mon-Fri
Head Counselors (18+) Responsibilities
- Supervise Grade Groups or run Activity Spaces.
- Supervise Assistant Counselors assigned to your group or activity space.
- Ability to adapt to changing rolls, activities, and expectations.
- Attentiveness and a high level of energy is a must.
- Comfortable working with children.
- Must be 18+ during Summer 2026
- Salaried for 8 Weeks - Summer 2026
Assistant Counselor (15-17 y/o) Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of our Head Counselors (18+).
- Flexibility working in a variety of camp areas.
- Ability to adapt to changing rolls, activities, and expectations.
- Attentiveness and a high level of energy is a must.
- Comfortable working with children.
- Must be Age 15-17 during Summer 2026.
- Salary for 8 Weeks - Variable based on Grade Starting in Fall 2026.
Requirements
- Previous camp counselor or educator experience is required.
- Full Camp Program - 8 Weeks (6/22-8/14).
