Community Stabilization Qualified Mental Health Professional:
Step Above is seeking to hire Community Stabilization QMHPs to start working with clients in the Region 5 area when we hope to open our program this summer. These areas include Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Newport News, and Portsmouth.
The preferred candidates would provide Crisis Stabilization services to adults, adolescents, and children at imminent risk of hospitalization or an out-of-home placement. The QMHP will work with identified individuals who are experiencing acute and severe mental health conditions in the community setting.
Crisis stabilization services are provided on a short-term basis as determined during the assessment. Services are to be at most nine days at a time and typically occur 4-6 hours daily. In addition to direct client care, QMHPs are responsible for coordinating services according to clients’ treatment plans, facilitating and engaging families in crisis intervention and stabilization services to provide complete wrap-around services, and facilitating admissions and discharge preparation from the program. Experience providing Mobile Crisis and Crisis Stabilization services and/or knowledge of community mental health services and resources are preferred for this position.
Duties:
· Coordinate the development and timely submission of all required program documentation
· Maintain and ensure compliance with DBHDS and Medicaid standards
· Ensure all Serious Incident Reports are completed within 24 hours
· Perform client file audits as needed to ensure compliance with all Medicaid and DBHDS standards
· Ensure safety planning is completed on day 1 of service initiation due to the acute nature of symptoms and short admission period
· Ensure all Human Rights reportable incidents are investigated and reported according to agency policies, and all necessary steps are taken to protect clients'
· Adhere to all agency policies/procedures and complete other tasks assigned by the Crisis Supervisor and Program Director for the successful operation of the program
. Provide crisis stabilization services to individuals in acute mental health crises in the community setting.
**Must obtain QMHP/LMHP/LCSW registration from the Virginia Board of Counseling

** Mobile Crisis Training Certification (or willingness to obtain it)
FORMAL EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in human services, a related field, or other degree deemed equivalent to those described from an accredited college. The human services field includes social work, gerontology, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, special education, sociology, counseling, and human services counseling. Considerable experience working with emotionally troubled individuals and affected families or equivalent experience as specified by DBHDD/DBHDS regulations. Must be able to show a minimum of one (1) year of direct service to individuals and families.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
