Choate USA is seeking an experienced Commercial Project Manager to oversee the administrative, financial, and contractual management of commercial landscape and irrigation construction projects. This role partners closely with field Superintendents to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
This is not a field Superintendent position. While regular jobsite visits are required to support field operations, coordinate with General Contractors, and verify project progress, the position is primarily office-based and focused on project administration, contract management, cost control, and client communication.
Previous landscape construction management experience is not required; however, experience working for or with General Contractors on commercial construction projects is required.
Responsibilities
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, billing, change orders, and overall financial performance.
- Prepare and review pay applications, cost reports, forecasts, and job cost projections.
- Review contracts, plans, specifications, and project scope to ensure compliance and identify potential risks.
- Coordinate schedules, manpower requirements, and project sequencing with field Superintendents.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, material procurement, project documentation, and closeout requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with General Contractors, owners, inspectors, vendors, and design professionals.
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve issues impacting schedule, cost, or quality.
- Lead internal and external preconstruction meetings to align scope, schedule, budget, and execution expectations.
- Maintain company standards for documentation, communication, cost control, and profitability.
Requirements
- Experience working in commercial construction for or with General Contractors is required.
- Relevant experience may include Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent, or similar construction management roles.
- Strong understanding of project budgeting, job cost control, pay applications, change order management, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of commercial construction practices and procedures in the State of Texas.
- Landscape or irrigation construction experience is a plus, but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary starting at $80,000+, based on experience.
- Vehicle allowance.
- Company phone.
- Company credit card.
- Medical, dental, vision, and additional benefits following the initial probationary period.
- Paid time off and company-sponsored benefits.
