Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble deli products with precision, including slicing meats, cheeses, and other specialty items using food preparation techniques and equipment.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, offering product recommendations and upselling items to enhance their shopping experience.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS efficiently for transactions, cash handling, and order processing.
- Maintain food safety standards by following sanitation protocols, proper food handling procedures, and ensuring cleanliness of the deli area.
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and manage inventory to keep the deli area attractive and fully stocked throughout the shift.
- Assist with food service tasks such as bussing tables or clearing orders in quick service or fast food restaurant environments.
- Support team members with basic math calculations for pricing, grocery store transactions, or retail math to ensure accurate sales processing.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food industry roles such as food preparation, serving, cashiering, or working in a quick service or fast food restaurant is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards is essential for maintaining a safe environment.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours.
- Ability to operate POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS accurately for sales transactions.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude that promotes positive interactions.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, pricing accuracy, and retail transactions.
- Experience working in grocery stores or retail environments involving food handling is advantageous.
