SENIOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
A Property Management company in Fairfax County has a full-time position available for a 500 townhome community in Springfield.
Seeking candidate who can:
· Work independently or with a small team, and delegate tasks to a Junior Maintenance Tech.
· Ability to prioritize competing tasks and maximize productivity.
· Communicate directly with Residents and Staff in a professional manner.
· Abide by all work safety standards and requirements.
· Be a dependable team player with a positive attitude, able to identify and solve problems, and willing to learn new skills.
Duties include:
- Repair and maintain electric and gas street lights: replace light bulbs, gas light mantles, wash globes
- Clean roof gutters/downspouts and drains, repair/replace gutter guards (requires use of ladder to second or third story)
- Landscaping: lawn (fall seeding), shrub, and tree care, such as applying mulch, pruning/trimming, watering, applying chemical treatments etc.
- Groundskeeping: remove sticks, trash, downed limbs, storm debris
- Power washing: brick walls and homes, sidewalks
- Painting: yellow curbs and parking numbers
- Maintain equipment, and tools, including salt spreaders, chainsaws,
electric tools, etc., and keep up with regular maintenance on vehicles
- Keep current inventory and safeguard all tools and equipment
- Clean office and maintenance/equipment yard
- Operate pickup truck and dump trailer, skid steer, tractor and attachments.
- Snow preparation and removal: apply salt to roads and sidewalks, assist with plowing and snow removal
- Other tasks as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
· Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
· Able to work outside year round
· Clean driving record and pass background check
· Reliable transportation
Salary: $30-$34 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time (Springfield)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm (30 min paid lunch)
occasional overtime required, but no on-call hours
