We are expanding our team and seeking a skilled Flat Glass Installer who shares our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Position Summary
The Flat Glass Installer is responsible for measuring, cutting, fabricating, and installing a wide range of flat glass products, including mirrors, insulated glass units (IGUs), tabletops, shelving, shower enclosures, storefront glass, and related hardware. This role requires hands-on installation skills, strong attention to detail, and professional interaction with customers in homes and commercial environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesGlass Installation & Fabrication
- Install, replace, and repair flat glass including:
- Mirrors
- Insulated glass units (single, double, and triple pane)
- Storefront and commercial glazing
- Table tops, shelves, cabinet glass
- Safety glass and tempered units
- Measure, cut, and fabricate glass accurately per job specifications.
- Remove and dispose of old glass safely and cleanly.
- Install channels, stops, clips, setting blocks, gasket systems, and other hardware.
Site Work & Project Execution
- Perform accurate site measurements and generate cut lists.
- Read shop drawings, work orders, and architectural plans.
- Ensure all installations meet company, manufacturer, and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site and company vehicle.
- Handle ladders, scaffolding, and glass-handling equipment safely.
Customer Service & Professionalism
- Communicate clearly and courteously with customers regarding project details.
- Provide on-site recommendations and report any unforeseen issues.
- Represent Glass Doctor of Camden County with professionalism and integrity.
Equipment & Safety
- Operate glass handling tools and machines including:
- Glass cutters, polishers, grinders
- Suction cups, dollies, and lifting tools
- Power tools and hand tools
- Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
QualificationsRequired
- At least 1–2 years of flat glass or glazing experience (residential or commercial).
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 75–100 lbs of glass and hardware regularly.
- Strong measuring, cutting, and layout skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Comfort using hand and power tools.
Preferred
- Experience with storefront systems or shower enclosure installations.
- Familiarity with IGU replacement and reglazing.
- Knowledge of glazing putty, silicone, setting tape, gaskets, wraps, and trims.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
