Overview: We are seeking a friendly , reliable, and organized Dermatology Front Desk Receptionist / Medical Assistant to join our growing practice. This is a dual-role position ideal for someone who enjoys both patient-facing administrative work and hands-on clinical support.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing assistance as needed.
- Manage incoming calls using phone systems, directing calls to appropriate personnel.
- Schedule appointments and maintain the calendar for medical staff.
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with insurance verification processes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage clerical tasks such as filing and data entry.
- Collect co-pays, handle payments, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Manage basic billing tasks
- Room patients and obtain vitals and relevant history
- Assist the physician with medical, surgical, and cosmetic procedures
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical space
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as specimen handling and patient education.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR).
- Coordinate referrals and prior authorizations as needed.
- Assist with patient inquiries regarding services, procedures, and office policies.
- Provide patients with necessary forms and educate them on office policies.
- Ensure the front desk, waiting room area is organized and presentable at all times.
- Ensure patient rooms are well stocked and kept clean between encounters.
- Flexibility with additional projects and tasks may be assigned as needed.
Skills
- Professional demeanor and a friendly attitude.
- Proficient in medical terminology to communicate effectively within a healthcare setting.
- Strong clerical skills with attention to detail in managing administrative tasks, records and documentation.
- Experience with phone systems to handle high call volumes efficiently.
- Previous experience in a hospital or medical office setting is advantageous.
- Computer skills are required.
- Proficiency in using scheduling and EMR systems; experience with EMA EMR is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills focused on patient service and satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Light cleaning as needed to maintain professional atmosphere.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
