What We’re Looking For:
Under the direction of the Director, Communications, the Manager, Communications manages the planning and delivery of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA)’s internal and external communications activities.
The Manager, Communications collaborates with the Director, Communications on the delivery of the annual communications operational plan in support of the CPA’s organizational objectives. Using the CPA’s strategic plan as a guide, the Manager, Communications is responsible for translating approved communications strategies into plans, content, and coordinated execution.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Planning & Management
- Liaise with the Director, Communications in the development of project plans and communications strategies for the communications department
- Liaise with the Manager, Marketing and Business Development to ensure alignment of all communications and marketing plans and strategies
- Measure, track, and analyze data analytics, trends, and performance across all channels and report and recommend proposed alterations to communications strategies to the Director, Communications on an ongoing basis
- Manage the tracking of all communications activities using the communications calendar and other project management software
- Monitor communications expenditures and support budget planning and administration within approved parameters.
- Manage relationships with key vendors including agencies, translators, and others
- Manage translation requests for all communications across the organization
Strategic Communications
- Under the direction of the Director, Communications, develop organizational key messaging and storytelling for the CPA
- Work cross-functionally to develop and execute communications tactics, plans, and strategies that contribute to a consistent voice and narrative and support the CPA’s strategic planning and goals
- Write and edit internal and external CPA communications
- Research, develop, and execute bilingual content across social media, website, newsletters, and publications
- Manage the development and delivery of recurring organizational communications, including What's Moving, CPA Connect, and other executive or organizational publications.
- Manage the development and delivery of recurring organizational communications related to holidays and days of significance.
- Manage the tracking and execution of all day-to-day communications requests from CPA Divisions and Assemblies
- Leverage key CPA stakeholders as subject matter experts and consultants and ensure CPA communications reflect the unique perspective of our membership and stakeholders
- Work cross-functionally with teams across the CPA to ideate, develop, execute, and analyze communications strategies to support key operational priorities
Essential Skills and Requirements
Education:
- Completion of a 4-year degree in a specialized field ( i.e. Marketing or Communications).
- Requires well-developed analytical and reasoning skills.
- Requires strong relationship-building skills.
- Written and oral fluency in both English and French preferred.
Experience:
- 4 – 6 years of progressively responsible communications, public relations or related work experience
- Experience coordinating complex communications projects and liaising cross-functionally with colleagues, stakeholders and vendors.
