Position Overview
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will provide strategic clinical leadership across all medical, telemedicine, and AI-driven healthcare initiatives. The CMO will ensure clinical quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based medical standards while helping shape the future of AI-enabled healthcare delivery.
This role requires a forward-thinking physician leader with experience in digital health, telemedicine, healthcare operations, or clinical innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
Lead the company’s overall clinical vision and medical strategy.
Develop and oversee clinical protocols, workflows, and standards of care.
Ensure high-quality patient outcomes and evidence-based medical practices.
Guide the implementation of AI-assisted clinical tools and virtual care models.
AI & Digital Health Strategy
Collaborate with product, engineering, and AI teams to develop AI healthcare solutions.
Validate medical accuracy and safety of AI-driven recommendations and workflows.
Support the development of AI Doctor Avatar and telemedicine solutions.
Ensure ethical and responsible use of AI in healthcare.
Telemedicine & Care Delivery
Oversee telemedicine operations and virtual care programs.
Support physician onboarding, credentialing, and provider engagement.
Develop scalable remote patient care and monitoring strategies.
Optimize patient experience and continuity of care.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, FDA, and state medical regulations.
Assist in developing healthcare policies, risk management, and clinical governance.
Support legal and compliance teams regarding healthcare regulations.
Strategic & Business Leadership
Work closely with executive leadership on company growth and healthcare strategy.
Support fundraising efforts, investor discussions, and strategic partnerships.
Represent the company in clinical, healthcare, and industry events.
Build relationships with healthcare providers, hospitals, and healthcare organizations.
Team Development
Mentor and support healthcare providers and clinical teams.
Help recruit and build a high-performing medical organization.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and patient-centered care.
Qualifications
Required
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Active and unrestricted medical license in the United States.
5+ years of clinical experience.
Leadership experience in healthcare organizations, telemedicine, digital health, or healthcare startups.
Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and clinical operations.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred
Experience in AI healthcare, telemedicine, or health tech startups.
Experience scaling healthcare operations or digital care platforms.
Knowledge of healthcare interoperability, EHR systems, and remote monitoring.
Prior executive leadership experience as Medical Director, VP Medical Affairs, or CMO.
