A family in Holly Springs, NC is seeking an experienced, engaging, and dependable full-time nanny to care for their sweet 2.5-year-old son while preparing for the arrival of a new baby boy this winter. The family hopes to find someone who can begin as soon as the right fit is found, with flexibility for a July/August start.

The family currently has one wonderful little boy who is 2.5 years old and will welcome a second son in December. Both parents work from home and value being able to see and interact with their children throughout the day while also respecting the nanny's role as the primary caregiver during working hours.
Their oldest son is bright, affectionate, and thoughtful. He forms strong bonds with trusted caregivers and prefers to observe new situations before jumping in. He thrives with consistency, patience, and gentle encouragement. He absolutely loves cars, trucks, outdoor adventures, and enjoys spending time with other children once he has had time to warm up. The family is looking for a nanny who will embrace his personality, foster his development, and create engaging, play-based learning opportunities each day.
Position Overview:
The family would like to hire a nanny before the new baby arrives to allow their toddler time to build a strong relationship with his caregiver and ease the transition into becoming a big brother.
Initially, care will primarily focus on their toddler. After the baby arrives, both parents will be home on parental leave for several months. During that time, they anticipate needing a reduced schedule with a minimum guarantee of 30 hours per week, while maintaining flexibility based on the family's changing needs. They hope to find someone who is comfortable with this temporary transition before returning to a full-time schedule once both parents return to work.
The long-term role will expand to include care for both children.
Schedule:
Initial Schedule (approximately 37 guaranteed hours):
- Monday-Thursday: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM-2:00 PM
During Parental Leave (Winter):
- Approximately 30 guaranteed hours per week
- Primarily Monday-Thursday
- Flexible schedule depending on the family's needs
- Fridays generally off
Beginning in April (40 guaranteed hours):
- Monday-Friday
- 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Responsibilities:
The nanny's primary focus will always be providing care for the children while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing attentive, developmentally focused care
- Planning creative, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning through play
- Supporting language, social, and emotional development
- Encouraging outdoor play and active engagement
- Preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children
- Diaper changes and supporting potty training
- Children's laundry
- Tidying children's spaces and play areas
- Maintaining open communication with parents throughout the day
- Light child-related household tasks completed during naps or downtime, including:
- Emptying and reloading the dishwasher with pre-rinsed dishes
- Wiping kitchen counters and the table
- General child-related organization
As the new baby arrives, responsibilities will naturally expand to include infant care while continuing to support the older sibling through this exciting transition.

- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Comfortable working alongside work-from-home parents
- Physically active and able to comfortably lift and carry a toddler, including navigating stairs
- Interested in building a long-term relationship with the family
While outings are not an immediate expectation, the family would love to eventually support trips to parks, museums, story times, and preschool transportation as their son grows older.
Requirements:
- Previous professional nanny experience required
- Experience caring for infants and multiple children
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Non-smoker
- Current childhood vaccinations
- Current Tdap vaccination
- Annual flu vaccine required
- COVID vaccination/boosters are welcome but not required
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Reliable personal vehicle for transportation to and from work (and future child-related outings)
- Comfortable working in a home with one friendly dog (no pet care responsibilities)
Compensation & Benefits:
- $25-$29 per hour, based on experience
