Job Summary
We are on the lookout for a proactive and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee our facility’s maintenance operations. In this role, you will lead maintenance activities to ensure our manufacturing processes run smoothly and safely. The ideal candidate is passionate, and possesses strong leadership skills, and is eager to keep our facilities in top condition through effective management and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Job Duties:
- Create, execute and audit maintenance SOP’s and SWI’s
- Improve and execute preventative maintenance (PM) program to eliminate unplanned production machinery downtime. Assign and track PM completion accordingly.
- Review un-planned machinery downtime with Sr. Maintenance manager and develop corresponding continuous improvement (CI) activities that may include PM scope change, frequency change, and/or maintenance technician training.
- Organize and assign PM’s and work orders (WO’s) to maximize maintenance department productivity.
- Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, the quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
- Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
- Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
- Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Process Manager to obtain materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
- Communicate production operator related downtime concerns to manufacturing supervisor and/or manufacturing manager for potential SOP updates or operator training.
- Confer with production and administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
- As warranted, the Maintenance supervisor will perform duties associated with a Maintenance Technician.
- Interact professionally with internal and external customers, vendors, and prospects in support of company initiatives
- Confer with management, subordinates, and Human Resources to resolve employee problems, complaints, or grievances.
- Enforce and abide by safety and sanitation regulations and follow all work procedures.
- Support all OSHA guidelines and audits.
- Participate in SQF, HACCP, Safety, and Process Improvement teams.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong management skills with experience supervising teams in a fast-paced setting.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance planning and tracking.
- Excellent communication skills
