Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional at Johnson Home 112 to provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by promoting independence and dignity. As a Direct Support Professional, you will work closely with clients in various settings. On the job training is provided. We have part time positions available. Serious applicants only.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and cooking nutritious meals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Observe and document client behavior, health status, and any changes in condition to ensure appropriate care.
- Aid clients in participating in community activities and encourage social engagement.
- Assist with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring clients safely.
- Support clients with medication management as required.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home health, senior care, hospice care, or working with people with disabilities is preferred.
- Strong cooking skills to prepare healthy meals tailored to client preferences and dietary needs.
- Ability to lift and assist clients as necessary while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Excellent observation skills to monitor patient conditions and report any concerns promptly.
- Compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not required.
