About Us
Solace Clinical Services is an upcoming outpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) behavioral health facility in Baltimore. We are dedicated to providing elite, compliance-driven, person-centered addiction and mental health recovery services to the Maryland Public Behavioral Health System (PBHS). As we prepare to submit our initial CARF accreditation application and complete our Maryland state licensing registry, we are seeking an autonomous, leadership-minded Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to step into the role of Medical Director.
Job Summary
In accordance with Maryland COMAR 10.63 guidelines, we are hiring a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (CRNP-PMH) to serve as our officially designated Medical Director.
This position is structured specifically for a provider looking for a highly predictable, lucrative secondary stream of revenue with a flexible schedule. The role is split into two clear operational phases to support our program launch:
- Phase 1 (The Application Phase): You will act as the named Medical Director for our pending CARF accreditation and state licensing application. Responsibilities are strictly administrative (policy sign-offs and portal credentialing tracking).
- Phase 2 (The Operational Phase): Once the facility launches, your payment transitions to a hybrid structure. You will maintain administrative oversight while providing part-time, highly efficient diagnostic evaluations and psychotropic medication management for our adult client cohort.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Compliance: Serve as the named Medical Director on our CARF application submission and Maryland state license registry.
- Clinical Protocol Sign-Off: Review and approve the clinic’s medical protocols, somatic health tracking, and infection control guidelines to ensure strict compliance with CARF Section 1 (Leadership) standards.
- Psychiatric Intake Assessments: Conduct comprehensive initial diagnostic psychiatric evaluations for adult clients entering the IOP and traditional outpatient tracts.
- Medication Management & Reconciliation: Provide routine follow-up psychotropic medication management, monitor co-occurring somatic risks, and execute strict medication reconciliation logs in our EHR.
- Interdisciplinary Care Team Consulting: Attend weekly, multi-disciplinary clinical team meetings to review high-risk charts and sign off on client treatment plan updates.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Licensure: Active, completely unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner in Maryland with an advanced Psychiatric Mental Health certification (CRNP-PMH).
- Prescribing Power: Active Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) registration and Federal DEA license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of active practice as a PMHNP; background in substance use disorders (SUD), intensive outpatient settings, or public health programs is highly preferred.
- Audit Readiness: Willingness to partner with executive leadership to secure initial CARF accreditation and protect clean-claim Medicaid (Carelon/Optum MD) billing practices.
- Immediate Credentialing Onboarding: Ability to promptly execute an independent contractor agreement and provide active primary source verifications to meet upcoming CARF submission deadlines.
Benefits & Program Layout
- Lucrative Guaranteed Base: High administrative payout relative to the hours worked during the pre-operational application phase.
- Protected Production Rate: Premium hourly billing that respects your direct clinical face-to-face time.
- Unmatched Schedule Flexibility: No mandatory on-call hours, no weekends, and zero overnight shifts. Clinical time can be scheduled flexibly via partial telehealth integration or structured block time at our Baltimore facility.
Compensation Structure:
- Pre-Operational Phase: $1,500 / month flat administrative stipend (Application, CARF portal alignment, and policy review).
- Fully Operational Phase: $1,000 / month base administrative retainer + $100 to $110 / hour for direct patient clinical care.
Pay: From $100.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Baltimore, MD 21240
