Cornell Forge is a recognized leader in the forging industry with a longstanding reputation for producing complex parts. Our facility is located just south of Chicago in Bedford Park.
We are currently recruiting for a Quality Technician. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, preferably in steel, forging or machining. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tech that has a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions:

Perform inspection on tooling and parts using the Romer Arm or CMM, notifying supervision of any nonconformities.

Verify inspection of parts using basic hand tool measurements if necessary

Using forklift to transport material as needed

Assist in completing documentation for PPAP submissions.

Perform dimensional studies, layouts and capability studies and summarize results.

Create and update Romer Arm/CMM programs as needed.

Maintain gauge calibrations.

Practice safe work habits and follow safety rules.

Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Knowledge and Experience using inspection equipment (calipers, height gages, etc.)
-
Knowledge of PPAP & ISIR reporting
-
Have a continual improvement mindset.

CMM (Romer Arm) experience
-
Solid working knowledge using various software (SPC, as well as Office)

Ability to manage multiple tasks.

Read and understand engineering drawings.
