The Role
Assist the project manager with the execution of projects. Manage a subset of a project and/or small-scale projects. Produce consistently high-quality design for various type of projects, including layout/design of utilities, storm drainage, grading, erosion control, site layout, and driveway/roadways, zoning requirements, etc. Oversee those deliverables are in line with proposal and scope and coordinate efforts with the design team. Coordinates with Project Manager and Director in coordinating with clients, overseeing design process , and coordinating with design team.
Responsibilities
- Create and edit civil and site drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Complete calculations, technical summaries, engineering reports, and specifications
- Collaborate with Director and Project Manager, client, and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget, and timeline
- Assist Project Managers and Director with preparing proposals, scope, and fee estimates
- Maintain schedule for assigned projects and update schedule as needed with Director or Project Manager
- Track profitability goals for projects, monitor utilization rates and labor summaries. Report concerns or potential challenges to Project Manager or Director
- Work with Project Manager to coordinate scope and pricing changes with the Client and communicate information to the Director
- Monitor project performance and work with Project Manager to develop solutions to maintain project deadlines budget. Ensure that all steps and procedures are followed through the local jurisdictional requirements
- Interface with clients, other discipline managers, and local, state, and federal review staff
- Provide clear, effective, and constant communications with clients and team members
- Coordinate drawings with Architects and other consultants
- Provide support to the Project Manager for quality of the work performed, client service, utilization of staff, reputation of office, contract management, and project profitabilit
- Provide assistance to the Project Manager for all account receivables in coordination with accounting representative
- Responsible for project performance and invoicing
- Assist in the adherence of QC/QA
- Business Development, project proposals, RFP's and other related duties
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the civil engineering industry with civil site design and engineering
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) for at least 2 years
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
Preferred
- PMP certification or other recognized project management credentials
- Demonstrated experience in business development and client relationship management
- Advanced degree in business, engineering management, or related field
