Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their checkout process using POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Accurately process cash, credit, and digital payments while maintaining proper cash handling procedures.
- Provide product demos and upsell items to enhance the customer’s shopping experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, including stocking shelves and merchandising products as needed.
- Answer customer inquiries with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Support inventory management by assisting with stocking, product placement, and inventory counts.
- Promote store promotions and loyalty programs to maximize sales opportunities through effective upselling techniques.
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions.
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience, preferably in a grocery store environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently and courteously.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
- Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities within the team.
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos enhances your ability to support store operations.
- Excellent phone etiquette, customer service orientation, and the ability to handle cash handling responsibilities with integrity are essential for success in this role.
Pay: $13.00 - $16.50 per hour
