Epitec is seeking a Back-End Software Development Engineering Senior Engineer to support the development of cloud-native applications, AI-enabled solutions, and enterprise platforms for a leading automotive organization in Dearborn, MI. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on senior engineer with deep experience in GCP, backend development, DevOps, and emerging AI technologies to help build the foundation of a growing engineering team.
Location: Dearborn, MI
Schedule: 4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Remote
Long-Term W2 Contract (Approx. 12 Months)

Pay Range: $48-$53/hr
- Design, develop, and support cloud-native applications and backend services using Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Build scalable APIs, integrations, and enterprise platforms supporting engineering and business operations
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, and containerized deployments
- Implement AI-enabled solutions utilizing technologies such as RAG, MCP, agentic workflows, ADK, and A2A architectures
- Integrate applications with enterprise data sources, workflow systems, and AI services
- Contribute to solution architecture, platform engineering standards, and technical best practices
- Analyze data and develop solutions leveraging BigQuery and cloud-based analytics tools
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and external vendors across multiple initiatives
- Support application monitoring, telemetry, evaluation frameworks, and platform optimization efforts
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- 8+ years of software development experience preferred
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including Cloud Run and BigQuery
- Proficiency with Python, Java, GitHub, and modern backend development practices
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-native architectures
- Knowledge of solution architecture, enterprise integrations, and scalable API development
- Experience with AI technologies such as RAG, MCP, ADK, A2A, prompt management, or agentic workflows preferred
- Exposure to Angular and UI/UX concepts is a plus
- Automotive or Ford experience preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with AI technologies including RAG, MCP, ADK, A2A, prompt management, and agentic workflows
- Experience developing AI-enabled applications and intelligent workflow automation solutions
- Exposure to Angular and UI/UX design principles
- Experience with Kubernetes and large-scale cloud platforms
- Automotive industry experience
- Ford experience
- Experience working with enterprise knowledge sources, workflow platforms, and external vendors
