Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year in a collaborative and supportive educational setting. A dedicated Registered Nurse is needed to partner with two Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to provide essential healthcare services across several elementary campuses. This is a contract position running from late August or early September through December, with a strong likelihood of extension through the full academic year.
You’ll work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, traveling between school sites to offer direct medical support, coordinate care for diabetic students, and respond effectively to student health needs. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, healthy environment for young learners and create invaluable connections with educational staff. Mileage for site visits is documented and reimbursed at the IRS rate.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience in school or pediatric nursing preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Comfort working independently and as a team member
- Strong assessment, documentation, and organizational abilities
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between sites daily
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit assigned elementary schools according to a pre-arranged schedule
- Support LVNs with daily medical care and interventions
- Assist with diabetic student management and other specialized health needs
- Complete accurate and timely student incident reports
- Liaise with educators, parents, and district health staff
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and responsive school health environment
