Job Summary
Join our skilled healthcare team as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), where your expertise will directly impact patient care and well-being. The nurse's role plays a vital role in delivering safe, compassionate, and high quality patient care in our outpatient imaging center.
Working collaboratively with radiologists, technologists, and administrative staff, the RN provides comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after imaging procedures. Responsibilities include patient assessment, IV access, contrast administration support, patient education, monitoring, emergency response, and ensuring compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assess patients prior to imaging procedures and identify any contraindications or safety concerns
- Obtain and document medical histories, allergies, medications, and relevant clinical information
- Initiate and maintain peripheral intravenous (IV) access for contrast-enhanced imaging studies
- Administer medications as ordered and within the RN scope of practice
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition
- Assess and manage adverse reactions to contrast media and provide emergency interventions as needed
- Provide patient education regarding imaging procedures, preparation, recovery, and follow-up instructions
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, imaging technologists, referring providers, and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, patient safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain emergency equipment, medications, and supplies to ensure readiness
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support accreditation standards
- Foster a welcoming, patient-centered environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
The hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. No evenings, no weekends, no call.
Pay: $30.00 - $42.00 per hour
