Get Set Go Health & Wellness Company, LLC is dedicated to empowering individuals on their recovery journey. Our Adult Peer Support Services (APSS) provide structured, community-based support for adults ages 18 and older living with mental illness and/or substance use disorders. We focus on recovery, self-determination, self-advocacy, life skills development, and strengthening independence to promote long-term wellness and stability.
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Adult Peer Support professional to provide recovery-oriented peer support services while assisting with day-to-day program operations. This position combines direct peer support services with administrative and program support responsibilities to help ensure individuals receive high-quality, person-centered care in both community and residential recovery settings.
The ideal candidate has lived experience in recovery, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to support both participant engagement and daily program activities. This role does not include supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities: Peer Support Services
- Provide one-on-one and group peer support services in community-based and residential settings
- Build supportive and trusting relationships using trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approaches
- Utilize lived experience to inspire hope, resilience, and recovery
- Assist individuals with identifying recovery goals and developing daily living skills
- Provide wellness education and skills training related to coping skills, emotional regulation, communication, anger management, problem-solving, and relapse prevention
- Encourage participation in treatment services, peer groups, and recovery-based activities
- Facilitate peer support groups focused on empowerment, self-advocacy, and recovery maintenance
- Support individuals in accessing community resources, including housing, employment, transportation, benefits, and healthcare services
- Assist with applications, referrals, scheduling appointments, and completing required paperwork
Program Support Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day program operations and participant scheduling
- Support intake and orientation processes for new participants and residents
- Help organize recovery activities, workshops, groups, and community events
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, service records, and program data in accordance with agency and regulatory standards
- Observe and report behavioral changes, concerns, incidents, and participant progress to appropriate staff
- Assist with maintaining program supplies and ensuring program spaces remain organized and welcoming
- Provide transportation support or coordination when appropriate
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and collaborative treatment planning
- Support crisis de-escalation efforts and communicate emergencies or safety concerns to supervisory staff immediately
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of a Certified Peer Support Specialist Training Program
- Must self-identify as a person with lived experience of mental illness and/or recovery from substance use disorder
- Strong understanding of the recovery process and ability to appropriately utilize lived experience to support others
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in behavioral health, recovery services, community mental health, or residential treatment settings
- Experience facilitating groups or recovery-based activities
- Knowledge of community resources and support systems
- Adult Peer Support Specialist certification in Kentucky preferred
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time position
- May require evenings, weekends, and community-based travel depending on program needs
- Work may occur in office, residential, and community settings
