Summary
The CNC Router Operator is responsible for setting-up, programming and operating a CNC Router according to instructions to produce parts as specified while maintaining safety and quality requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-
Sets up and operates CNC machine router to cut parts according to specifications
-
Review and understand CNC set up instructions, blueprints and specifications
-
Operates from detailed blueprints yet able to conceptualize and fabricate parts per requirements
-
Operates tools such as but not limited to grinders, band saws, pallet jack, air hose, etc.
-
Verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications through the use of calipers, tape measure, height gauge, etc.

Push control buttons to activate auto cycles

Evaluate programs for routers by entering instructions including zero and reference points; setting tool registers and offsets; calculating requirements including basic math and proving part programs

Inspect work pieces for defects and measure work pieces to determine accuracy of machine operation measuring instruments
-
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating among the different shifts the actions taken, irregularities that occurred and continuing needs of each group

Ensure a safe working environment and keep work area clean and organized

Document actions by completing production and quality logs

Obtain Forklift Certification per Company requirements and operate forklifts in a safe and professional manner

Record and maintain production and process data per Work Area Instructions
-
Inspect and measure parts per Work Instructions, Control Samples, Inspections Plans and Customer Drawings to verify conformance to quality standards

Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and process deviations
-
Notify supervisors when parts fail to meet quality standards
-
Utilize computerized data entry equipment and various word processing, spreadsheet and file maintenance programs to enter, store and/or retrieve information

Manage time to determine priorities in order to effectively accomplish a broad range of activities

Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the customer’s experience

Requirements:
Qualifications

Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English

Basic knowledge of mathematics, including the use of a tape measure, calipers and height gauge and calculator

Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of commonly used tools
-
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
-
Exhibits solid time management skills and ability to determine priorities in order to effectively accomplish a broad range of activities
