JOB
Performs major and minor repair and replacement work on buses. Work is performed under the supervision of the Maintenance Superintendent and Senior Mechanic.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Perform major and minor repair and replacement work; Perform selected repairs and replacement of diesel driven equipment; Repair and overhaul brakes, ignition and fuel systems, etc.; Repair, overhaul and main special equipment; Disassemble, repair and reassemble air compressor, pumps, and related equipment; Perform diversified electrical work on diesel equipment, such as installing batteries terminals, repair and adjusting lights, installing generators and starters; Service air conditioning systems for heavy diesel equipment; Maintain housekeeping standards set forth by Maintenance Superintendent; Promote safety in the work place; and Perform other duties, as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Possession of a valid appropriate commercial driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Must be able to obtain passenger endorsement within 6 months of employment; failure to do so may result in termination. Must obtain a Type 2 Air Conditioning License within 6 months of employment; failure to do so may result in termination.
