Director Of English / Founding Tutor

Pay: $30/hr for approved Director/admin duties. Tutoring compensation is paid under the Company’s commission-based service pay structure, with a 10 percentage point Founding Tutor enhancement where commission-based pay applies.
Always There Tutoring is seeking a Director of English / Founding Tutor to help lead English, reading, writing, ELA, essay-support, and literacy-related tutoring services.
This role is a mix of direct tutoring and instructional leadership. The Director of English will help guide lesson quality, tutor support, student placement, writing support standards, and future English/ELA service development.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality English, ELA, reading, writing, and/or essay-support tutoring.
- Help develop English/ELA tutoring offerings and instructional standards.
- Support and mentor English/ELA tutors as the team grows.
- Review lesson quality, writing-support practices, and student-facing materials.
- Advise management on student placement, curriculum direction, writing-support boundaries, and service development.
- Maintain academic integrity standards; tutors support student writing but do not complete work for students.
Qualifications
- Teaching, tutoring, or curriculum experience in English, ELA, reading, writing, literacy, or related areas.
- Strong writing, editing, and instructional communication skills.
- Experience supporting middle-school, high-school, or college-prep writing preferred.
- Professional, reliable, and comfortable communicating with students, families, and staff.
- Must complete required onboarding and background-check processes.
Pay: $30.00 - $70.00 per hour
