We are seeking dedicated, compassionate 1-on-1 Paraprofessionals to support students with special needs in private schools across all five NYC boroughs.
As a 1-on-1 Para, you'll be exclusively assigned to one student — empowering them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic 1-on-1 Special Education Paraprofessional to join private schools across all five boroughs of NYC. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and other special education requirements. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive. Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support to students with disabilities in school settings
- Support students with daily living skills, including toileting, feeding, dressing, and mobility, when required
- Monitor the student's health, safety, and well-being throughout the school day
- Follow student-specific health care plans and medical protocols as instructed by the parent, school nurse, or healthcare team
- Support students during classroom instruction, transitions, lunch, recess, and community activities
- Implement IEP strategies and behavior support plans
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, school staff, and families
- Provide one-on-one instructional support tailored to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and needs
Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID, and Social Security Card
- High School Diploma or GED (must be 18+)
- Resume and 2 reference letters
- Background check & fingerprinting (PETS clearance)
- Mandated Reporter & Safe School Certificate (obtained during onboarding — we help you!)
- Onboarding and Child-specific training.
