Overview

Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC equipment using tools such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R systems to ensure optimal operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Repair or replace defective components using hand tools, welding equipment, and mechanical repair techniques.
- Diagnose complex issues related to refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing connections, electrical wiring, and mechanical failures.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and equipment maintenance documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction with all work performed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction or property maintenance with a focus on HVAC system installation and repair.
- Service technician experience with hands-on work in HVAC/R systems is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of schematics, mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and building automation systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles along with plumbing and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and field testing devices.
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance including boilers and appliances.
- Experience working with electrical systems within HVAC environments; familiarity with electrical diagnostics is essential.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools.
- Valid driver’s license (including <PERSON> driver if applicable) for field service operations; clean driving record preferred.
- Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in HVAC/R or ammonia refrigeration are a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with strong mechanical aptitude; ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings.

Pay: $29.87 - $35.77 per hour
