Duties
- Assist patients and residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding to promote independence and comfort.
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; accurately document findings.
- Support medical procedures such as catheter care, medication administration, in compliance with healthcare protocols.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support.
- Operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids to ensure safe patient transfers and prevent injury.
- Follow infection control procedures rigoro.
- Collaborate with Home Health or Hospice care to deliver comprehensive patient service.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records while respecting HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Engage in ongoing training related to CEU requirements by DHS
Experience
- Previous experience working in healthcare environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with caring for individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs enhances your ability to provide holistic support.
- Certification in Basic Life Support or other relevant healthcare certifications is required; additional certifications like hospice care or geriatrics are a plus.
- Working knowledge of physiology and anatomy principles related to patient care ensures safe and effective caregiving practices. Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
