Position Overview
We’re hiring an experienced Tree Crew Driver/Groundsman to join our DeLand crew immediately. This is a key ground-support role on a 5-man professional team. You’ll work directly with certified arborists and climbers on residential and light commercial tree jobs throughout the Central Florida area.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive the chipper truck and haul the wood chipper to and from job sites
- Operate the large-capacity wood chipper (up to 20" diameter material)
- Deliver mulch loads to mulch customers
- Drag and chip limbs, clear brush, and keep landing zones clean
- Assist climbers with rigging, rope work, and lowering branches
- Perform full job-site cleanup and property restoration
- Help load/unload equipment and maintain tools
- Follow all safety standards and company procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience as a tree crew groundsman
- Clean driving record (must be able to drive chipper truck while hauling wood chipper)
- Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs, work at a fast pace outdoors in all weather
- Reliable, punctual, positive attitude, and strong team player
- Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check (we are a verified drug-free workplace)
