Carver County Public Works is looking for a dynamic person to join our Operations team. Under the direction of the Assistant Public Works Director/Operations Engineer, the Transportation Operations Technician or Senior Transportation Operations Technician will provide skilled labor and technical assistance to the Public Works Division as described in each level. We are currently looking for someone to fill one of these Transportation roles. The classification will be dependent upon the candidate's qualifications. The position includes regularly using and operating light and heavy equipment, materials, and tools in the performance of operations, maintenance, installations, and repairs and other duties of a similar nature or level. This position is required to perform highway maintenance activities as requested by the Operations Manager if such need arises. The Senior Transportation Technician will be assigned a full-time snowplow route for winter snow and ice removal and subject to 24/7 call out availability for all types of highway maintenance issues.This position is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing under 49 CFR Part 382 and 49 CFR Part 40.This is a safety-sensitive position.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
All applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, background investigation including FMCSA Clearinghouse and CJIS fingerprinting, and pre-placement physical, including DOT drug screen.
