Position Summary: The Senior Executive for Administration serves as a collaborative executive
leader responsible for the administrative, financial, and operational functions of St. Joseph
Center and its ministries. This role ensures operational excellence, fiscal integrity, and long-term
sustainability across a complex, mission-driven organization.

The Senior Executive for Administration provides executive oversight of core administrative
areas including operations, finance, human resources, communications, and shared services,
while supporting the effective functioning of ministries across St. Joseph Center. This includes
the supervision of the Director of a small-scale residential care home (Regina Residence).

Working in close collaboration with Congregational Leadership and the Sisters of St. Joseph of
Orange, the Senior Executive for Administration fosters strong relationships grounded in
transparency, trust, and shared stewardship. Through ongoing consultation and collaboration, this
role helps ensure that organizational resources, administrative practices, and civil operations
support and advance the mission, values, charism, and Chapter direction of the Congregation.

As part of a collaborative leadership model alongside the Senior Executive for Ministries and
Senior Executive for Charism Formation, the Senior Executive for Administration shares
responsibility by ensuring that mission, ministry, and operations remain aligned and responsive
to the evolving needs of the Congregation and its partners at St. Joseph Center.

Essential Functions: This position is not limited to the essential functions listed below. Other
projects and duties may be assigned.

Administrative & Operational Leadership

Provides oversight to Operations, Finance, Human Resources, IT, Communications,

Mission Advancement, and other functions, including development of team capacity and
performance

Ensures administrative departments reflect the values, spirit, and traditions of the Sisters

of St. Joseph of Orange and Catholic Social Teaching

Senior Executive for Administration|

Supports organizational adaptability and innovation aligned with Congregational vision,

strategic priorities, and operational capacities

Promotes collaboration, healthy communication, and shared learning among all

administrative departments

Strengthens organizational infrastructure and efficiency by improving processes, systems,

and communication across departments

Governance, Strategy & Organizational Alignment

Partners with Congregational Leadership to support strategic planning, clear decision-

making structures and organizational accountability

Maintains appropriate boundaries and collaboration between civil operations and

canonical governance

Addresses role clarity, communication flow, efficiency, and accountability across

departments to strengthen organizational effectiveness

Financial Leadership

Provides strategic leadership for all financial operations, including accounting, reporting,

forecasting, and financial planning

Oversees Catholic responsible investment portfolios in collaboration with the leadership

team and the Investment Advisory Committee

Residential / Care Home Operations Oversight

Supervises the Director of Regina Residence, a residential care facility, and ensures the

delivery of person-centered care, and financial sustainability

Minimum Education Requirements:

 Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA),

Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred.
 Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare

Administration, or a related field preferred.

Senior Executive for Administration |

Minimum Experience Requirements:

 Extensive experience in leadership and management roles within a religious or faith-

based organization.
 Minimum 7–10 years of senior leadership experience in operations and/or finance.
 Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple administrative functions (e.g., operations,

finance, HR, facilities).
 Familiarity with Catholic Social Teaching and the traditions of the Roman Catholic

Church.

Strong understanding of compliance, risk management, and policy development in multi-

functional environments.

Technical Skills:

Competence in implementing and managing financial systems.
Understanding of operational and financial models.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations related to care-based programs.
