This position is compensated on a bi-weekly pay cycle.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position exists to retain all financial transactions for all inmates incarcerated in Colorado prison facilities, by posting all deposits and withdrawals to each individual inmate bank account and all control accounts by utilizing Department of Corrections’ Information System (DCIS, PCDCIS).
Primary Duties:-
Utilize current policies, procedures, fiscal rules, and statutes to decide the proper and most efficient way to complete inmate bank accounting tasks;

Receive and batch all financial transactions for incarcerated offenders, i.e. curio sales, cashiers daily report, money orders (incoming and outgoing), payrolls, postage, telephone, Xerox, photos, medical charges, damaged property, hobby, repairs and any miscellaneous charges;

Calculate and post financial transactions to accounts by accessing the Department of Corrections’ Information System (DCIS, PCDCIS);

Audit and verify DCIS inmate bank totals;

Reconcile calculated DCIS inmate bank totals to the calculated totals of the Wells Fargo Bank accounts for Department of Corrections’ Inmate Fund;

Analyzes transactions if any discrepancies occur and adjust incorrect transactions in the DCIS totals;

Obtain, compare, compute, record and track the court ordered fines and fees on criminal cases for offenders/parolees by utilizing CJIS, DCIS/PCDCIS, the current mittimus, amended mittimus, motions, orders, Register of Action, and financial summaries to establish the justification for modification and collection of monies;

Thoroughly analyze the information to ensure accuracy and also ensure transactions are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, state fiscal rules, and statutes;

Maintain garnishment orders for court ordered restitution, in and out of state child support, dependent support and filing fees;

Generate reports of all restitution transactions and analyze all data for monthly payout to courts;

Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required.
