Paint Protection Film (PPF) Assistant Position Summary
The Paint Protection Film (PPF) Assistant supports the installation team by preparing vehicles for high-quality paint protection film applications. This role is responsible for ensuring every vehicle is thoroughly cleaned, decontaminated, and properly staged before installation, while maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work environment. Attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and the ability to follow established processes are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, dry, and decontaminate vehicles using proper detailing techniques.
- Perform paint preparation, including clay bar treatment, iron removal, and surface cleaning.
- Remove contaminants, waxes, oils, and residues to ensure optimal film adhesion.
- Assist with disassembly and reassembly of vehicle components such as badges, trim pieces, lights, mirrors, and door handles when required.
- Prepare installation solutions, tools, and workstations for PPF installers.
- Inspect vehicle surfaces for imperfections and report any damage or concerns before installation.
- Maintain a clean, dust-free installation environment.
- Organize and maintain detailing supplies, chemicals, tools, and inventory.
- Safely move vehicles in and out of the shop and position them for installation.
- Assist installers during film installation by providing tools, cleaning edges, and performing quality checks.
- Perform final cleaning and presentation of completed vehicles.
- Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company with exceptional customer service.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous automotive detailing experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience with paint protection film, ceramic coatings, or window tint is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles is preferred.
