About the Opportunity
A growing private company is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting operations and financial reporting functions. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the continued growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting
- Manage account reconciliations and financial reporting packages
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Analyze financial performance and provide variance reporting
- Support leadership with financial insights and recommendations
Audit, Tax & Compliance
- Coordinate annual audits and tax-related activities
- Ensure accurate financial documentation and compliance requirements are maintained
- Support internal and external reporting needs
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
- Develop and improve accounting processes and procedures
- Strengthen internal controls and financial reporting accuracy
- Identify efficiencies and opportunities for automation
Leadership
- Manage and mentor accounting staff
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience in multi-entity organizations preferred
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
