Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily wood truss production operations, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to guide fabrication and assembly processes accurately.
- Operate and oversee the use of shop tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and hand tools to assemble wood trusses according to specifications.
- Manage materials handling, including forklift operation and warehouse organization, to optimize workflow and inventory control.
- Conduct dimensional measurements and quality control checks using tape measures and other measurement tools to ensure product accuracy.
- Enforce safety protocols consistently across the team, conducting safety audits and promoting a culture of safety awareness.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication, machining, and assembly tasks involving composite materials and millwork components.
Skills
- Proficiency in forklift operation and materials handling within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math for precise fabrication.
- Experience with woodworking, millwork, carpentry, and measuring techniques essential for quality control.
- Familiarity with pneumatic tools, power tools, hand tools, and other equipment used in truss manufacturing.
- Ability to follow detailed blueprint specifications and technical instructions accurately.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to manufacturing environments and materials handling procedures.
- Skills in fabrication, machining, interpreting technical drawings, and working with composite materials are highly valued.
