Overview
We are seeking a team of 2 for housekeeping duties (day shift) at Ocean County College.
Hours
Work hours are 6am to 2pm
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas
- Use commercial cleaning equipment such as buffers and floor polishers to maintain high standards of cleanliness and floor care
- Conduct deep cleaning procedures for restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure hygiene compliance
- Assist with custodial responsibilities related to industrial cleaning and facilities maintenance as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, fixtures, and furniture to uphold a professional environment
- Support minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting repairs needed for safety or operational purposes
- Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to ensure a hazard-free workspace
Qualifications
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures and equipment operation
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing floors is a plus, but not required
- Experience with commercial or industrial cleaning environments preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating cleaning machinery safely
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks like basic repairs or painting is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
