Job Description:
- Collaborate with Wild Heritage Gardens owner to understand their clients landscaping needs and preferences.
- Site Analysis: Evaluate natural site elements, including soil conditions, sunlight exposure, drainage, and existing vegetation. Record highly accurate measurements according to our strict specifications on a base map.
- Design Development: Prepare scaled base maps and construction documents using Vectorworks software. Over time develop and create original 2D/3D designs. Design and create sustainable, artistic, functional, and magical landscapes using Vectorworks software and other design tools. Incorporate elements such as gardens, walkways, patios, water features, retaining walls, and other design elements into landscape designs with a permaculture and sustainability lens.
- Plant and Material Selection: Select appropriate perennials, trees, and shrubs that are within Wild Heritage Gardens standards for the landscape design. Select appropriate hardscape materials such as stone, pavers, wood, and boulders that are within Wild Heritage Gardens standards for the landscape design.
- Project Management: Develop projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget. Coordinate with installation crews, landscape contractors, 811, and other trades to ensure the design is executed accurately on site.
- Client Interactions: Assist the lead designer and owner with client interactions, delivering samples, and designs. Attend client meetings and carry out other required tasks. Communicate with clients in a timely and respectful manner and represent Wild Heritage Gardens at all times.
Requirements:
- 2 years of proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong Front Range plant knowledge and identification.
- Strong proficiency in Vectorworks software programming.
- Strong proficiency in basemapping and measuring.
- 3D skills or the willingness to learn.
- Strong client management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication and sales skills.
- Strong commitment to the environment and sustainable, natural landscapes.
- Strong knowledge of permaculture and sustainability within the landscape profession.
- Must posses strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
- The ability to work on all aspects of a project, from initial client meetings to execution with supervision.
Experience:
- Landscape design: 2 years
- Vectorworks: 1 year (Preferred)
