American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Resource Pool (Float Pool) position covering all Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units at a Level 1 trauma academic medical center in West Virginia, requiring Epic experience and strong clinical versatility across multiple specialties.

Float pool position covering all Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units within an acute care, Level 1 trauma hospital
-
Units include MedSurg, Stepdown, Trauma & General Surgery, Ortho/Neuro, Long-Term Antibiotic Infusion, Neuro/Epilepsy Monitoring, Surgical Oncology, and Medical Oncology

Patient ratios are 1:3 on Stepdown units and 1:6 on Med/Surg and Telemetry units

Each unit has up to 34 beds
-
Charting is done in Epic; experience is required
-
12-hour night shifts
-
Weekends and holidays required as scheduled

13-week contract

Active WV or Compact RN license required

Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Strong clinical background across Stepdown, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, General Medicine, and Oncology required

Epic EMR experience required

Level 1 trauma experience preferred

Travel nursing experience preferred

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Driver's license must reflect an address outside of 50 miles from the facility

Two professional references required: one supervisor reference and one peer or additional supervisor reference (e.g., Charge RN)

Royal blue scrubs are required

Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
-
Travelers are not permitted to work within the WVU system for more than one cumulative year; once that mark is reached, a 2-year break is required before returning

Candidates may only be submitted to one WVU facility at a time

All candidates interview directly with a unit manager
