Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to safety standards in production and food handling practices
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by efficiently managing food production and plating
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure all meals are prepared in a hygienic environment
- Help with meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed
- Ensure all food is stored properly, rotating stock to minimize waste and maintain freshness
Skills
- Experience working in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly valued
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations within restaurant or food industry settings
- Knowledge of safety standards in production, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Skilled in culinary techniques such as slicing, dicing, and portioning with precision using knives and other kitchen tools
- Familiarity with menu planning processes and meal preparation for diverse dietary needs
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards serving guests and supporting colleagues
