About Continental General:
The Continental General family of companies has provided insurance, including life and long-term care policies, to individuals and groups for over 30 years, and currently supports over 200,000 policyholders. Both our insurance company, Continental General Insurance Company, and our third-party administrator, Continental General Services, are committed to the continuous development of our infrastructure, processes, and people. The group is actively growing through expansion of both its insurance portfolio and its administrative services. With each opportunity, we take a collaborative approach to address challenges and provide unique solutions.
Position Summary:
Continental General is seeking a senior TPA Client Solutions Director to own the end-to-end lifecycle of our Third-Party Administrator client engagements—from pre-sales support and RFP management through implementation and ongoing performance reporting. This role serves as the primary liaison between our TPA operations team, carrier clients, and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings deep TPA insurance knowledge across life, annuity, and long-term care product lines, strong relationship management skills, and the operational discipline to manage complex, multi-party engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Support & Business Development
-
Support prospecting and client acquisition efforts for new TPA relationships, working closely with business development leadership to identify and pursue target accounts.
-
Participate in prospect meetings, product demonstrations, and capability presentations to prospective TPA clients and carriers.
-
Develop and maintain pitch decks, capability summaries, and due diligence documentation that articulate Continental General’s TPA value proposition.
-
Collaborate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to structure competitive and compliant TPA service offerings.
RFP Management
-
Lead the end-to-end RFP response process, coordinating input from operations, IT, compliance, legal, and finance to deliver complete, accurate, and compelling proposals.
-
Maintain a library of standard RFP content and ensure responses reflect current capabilities, pricing, and service-level standards.
-
Track and manage RFP deadlines, submission timelines, and follow-up activities in coordination with the sales pipeline.
-
Analyze RFP requirements and identify gaps or risks to be addressed prior to submission.
Pipeline Tracking & Reporting
-
Maintain and manage the TPA opportunity pipeline, tracking status from initial engagement through signed agreement and go-live.
-
Produce regular pipeline reports and dashboards for leadership, highlighting key opportunities, risks, forecasted revenue, and conversion metrics.
-
Develop and distribute client health and performance reports summarizing service levels, volumes, issues, and satisfaction indicators.
-
Identify and escalate trends or patterns that may require strategic or operational attention.
TPA Implementation & Delivery
-
Lead the onboarding and implementation of new TPA clients and carrier partners, working with the VMO to understand and manage project plans, milestones, and cross-functional workstreams.
-
Serve as the primary point of accountability for delivery quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction during implementation.
-
Coordinate due diligence activities and ensure all operational, compliance, and technical readiness criteria are met prior to go-live.
-
Partner with Value Stream Teams, Operations, and other teams as needed to define system and process requirements for new TPA engagements.
-
Manage the transition from implementation to steady-state operations, establishing ongoing governance cadences and ensuring a seamless handoff to account management and operations teams.
Experience & Skills Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field or the equivalent years of education and experience required.
-
8+ years of experience in TPA operations, insurance carrier services, or business development.
-
Demonstrated knowledge of life, annuity, and/or long-term care products.
-
Proven experience managing RFP processes in an insurance or financial services environment.
-
Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization, influencing outcomes without direct authority across legal, compliance, IT, and operations.
-
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional implementations and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
-
Proficiency in pipeline management tools and reporting; experience with CRM platforms a plus.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior executives and external clients.
