ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Design Verification Lead to support capital project execution within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating design activities, overseeing verification processes, and ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate brings strong technical leadership, cross-functional coordination capabilities, and a deep understanding of design and verification workflows in GMP capital projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate all design activities with the Project Manager throughout each phase, and deliver reviews for conceptual and basic designs.

Direct the development of design requirements.

Assist in developing and maintaining the design schedule to meet project needs.

Coordinate with the A/E firm to monitor progress by discipline and compare it with invoiced amounts.

Expedite design decisions and facilitate information flow between the design team and system owners.

Ensure the design meets approved intent through interactions involving the A/E firm, design SMEs, and end users/customers.

Review and approve, along with the Project Manager, key project personnel involved in design (internal and external resources).

Work with Engineering Tech Center and additional project team members.

Coordinate, work and collaborate with vendors through vendor meetings, submittals review/approvals and closing design items to ensure project schedule compliance.

Address and resolve design issues with technical and constructability resources.

Achieve replication during design when applicable.

Develop necessary templates and processes for managing verification tasks.

Oversee the Verification Service Provider to verify that deliverables and activities are completed per project schedule and budget.

Establish a process for managing verification discrepancies.

Approve timesheets and invoices as required.

Work with the Project Information Management Lead and Maintenance Package Development Lead to clarify respective requirements and promote efficient information transfer.

Collaborate with the Construction Manager to create effective working relationships and ensure smooth asset transition from Construction to C&Q.

Address and resolve any verification-related issues encountered.

Collect required verification metrics.

Complete project closeout documentation related to verification.

Provide updates of project design within the different Tiers governance meetings including technical and management levels.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required
-
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical) or related technical discipline.

Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in capital project execution, design management, or verification roles within pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments.

Design Management: Demonstrated experience coordinating A/E firms, design SMEs, and cross-functional teams through conceptual, basic, and detailed design phases.

Verification: Proven experience overseeing verification activities, managing Verification Service Providers, and establishing discrepancy management processes.

GMP: Strong understanding of GMP requirements, change control, and compliance expectations for capital projects in regulated facilities.

Project Controls: Experience reviewing invoices, approving timesheets, and tracking design progress against schedule and budget.

Language: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (oral and written).

Certification: PMP or equivalent project management certification.

Experience: Direct experience with Engineering Tech Centers and information management systems in capital project environments.

Tools: Proficiency in MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent project scheduling and reporting platforms.
