Under the direct supervision of a Crew Leader and general supervision of a Field Supervisor and Water Reclamation Manager, this is an entry-level position responsible for learning and performing routine manual labor, equipment operation, and maintenance tasks within the City s Water Reclamation system. Primary duties include assisting with sewer main line cleaning, manhole and pipe repairs, pipeline CCTV inspections, and general maintenance of collection infrastructure. This position is structured as part of a Career Ladder Advancement Program, offering training, certification support, and clear pathways for professional growth.
This entry-level role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) alongside relevant experience or knowledge of construction principles. Equivalent combinations of skills and practical experience will be considered. Candidates must possess or obtain within three months of hire a valid Utah Commercial Driver s License (CDL) Class A with a Tanker endorsement.
Designed as a starting point for a long-term career, this position utilizes the Orem Public Works Career Ladder to support and encourage employees as they operate heavy machinery, obtain advanced certifications, and master specialized tasks to qualify for advancement through higher technician tiers (Technician I, II, III, etc.
Individual starting salary will depend on qualifications, certifications, and experience. The City also provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.
4/10 work schedule, Monday- Thrusday 6:30 am to 5:00 pm
