Experienced Phlebotomy and IV Skills Required

Bio Drip Longevity & Functional Medicine is seeking an experienced part-time Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist with strong venipuncture, difficult-stick and peripheral IV insertion skills. This role provides clinical coverage alongside a full-time medical assistant and requires availability on designated weekdays and rotating Saturdays.

We are a small, collaborative clinical team. Each employee is expected to contribute to safe patient care, efficient clinic operations and an exceptional patient experience.

Primary ResponsibilitiesPhlebotomy and IV Therapy

· Perform venipuncture confidently and accurately

· Start peripheral IVs for physician-ordered infusion therapies

· Administer injections according to provider orders and clinic protocols

· Identify and respond appropriately to difficult draws, unsuccessful attempts and common patient reactions

· Label, process and prepare laboratory specimens according to clinic and laboratory procedures

· Verify patient identity and laboratory orders before specimen collection

· Prepare IV treatment areas, supplies and equipment

· Monitor patients during treatments according to clinic protocols

· Document procedures, patient responses and required information accurately

· Maintain clean, organized and properly stocked treatment areas

· Follow infection-control, sharps-safety and clinical waste procedures

Medical Assistant Support

· Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs

· Review and update patient information

· Assist the physician and clinical team during consultations and procedures

· Prepare examination and treatment rooms

· Enter required information into the electronic medical record

· Communicate patient concerns promptly to the appropriate provider

· Support patient flow throughout the clinic

Clinic Operations

· Monitor phlebotomy, IV and injection supplies

· Notify clinic leadership before essential supplies reach minimum levels

· Help receive, organize and rotate clinical inventory

· Cross-train in designated clinical and operational functions

· Provide limited support in other clinic areas when needed to maintain patient flow

· Follow established procedures rather than creating unauthorized workarounds

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

· At least two years of recent, hands-on venipuncture experience

· Demonstrated proficiency performing blood draws independently

· Recent experience working in an outpatient medical clinic, laboratory, infusion center or comparable clinical setting

· Experience administering injections

· Experience starting peripheral IVs

· Ability to obtain accurate vital signs and perform patient intake

· Experience documenting in an electronic medical record

· Professional fluency in English and Spanish

· Strong attendance and punctuality

· Excellent organization and attention to detail

· Calm, professional patient communication

· Ability to follow detailed clinical procedures and safety protocols

· Availability to work the complete required schedule, including rotating Saturdays

Credential Requirements

Applicants must have completed relevant clinical training and hold at least one applicable credential or qualification, such as:

· Certified Medical Assistant

· Clinical Medical Assistant certification

· Phlebotomy certification

· Another directly relevant clinical credential accompanied by substantial hands-on experience

A credential alone does not replace the required two years of recent venipuncture experience.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in an IV therapy or infusion clinic

· Experience with difficult venous access

· Experience processing and preparing laboratory specimens

· Experience in functional medicine, internal medicine, hormone therapy, oncology, wellness or another specialty practice

· Current CPR or Basic Life Support certification

· Familiarity with laboratory requisitions and specimen-handling requirements

· Interest in functional medicine, longevity and preventive care
