Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Prepare examination rooms and assist providers during patient visits by handing instruments and supplies efficiently.
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) to support patient treatment plans.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of medical records, notes, ICD coding, and medical terminology for all patient encounters.
- Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling administrative support tasks related to patient service.
- Conduct specimen collection and processing for laboratory testing in compliance with hospital or outpatient protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to safety standards and infection control procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient settings, emergency medicine units, or outpatient clinics to deliver seamless patient care.
- Assist with hospital medicine or trauma center procedures when necessary, including OR support or inpatient care activities.
- Educate patients on medication usage, post-treatment instructions, and health management strategies based on physiology knowledge and pharmacology principles.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with a strong background in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or outpatient clinics.
- Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management.
- Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs collection, and basic life support certification (BLS).
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding procedures, anatomy knowledge, and physiology fundamentals essential for accurate documentation and patient care.
- Prior inpatient experience or hospital environment exposure is highly desirable; experience within Level I or Level II trauma centers is a plus.
- Knowledge of pharmacology principles related to medication administration and patient safety protocols.
- Experience working in emergency medicine settings or OR environments enhances your ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure situations.
- Geriatrics experience is beneficial for providing compassionate care to aging populations across outpatient or inpatient settings.

Pay: $24.15 - $29.08 per hour
