The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor is a licensed nurse responsible for the comprehensive education, mentorship, and evaluation of students. This role is vital in preparing students for state certification examinations and ensuring they are ready for entry-level healthcare careers by delivering a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on clinical training.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction and Lesson Delivery
- Prepare and deliver engaging lectures, demonstrations, and skill practice sessions based on the approved CNA curriculum.
- Develop and deliver state-approved lesson plans covering nursing fundamentals, patient rights, safety, and psychological needs.
- Utilize various instructional methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Ensure all course objectives and state-mandated skills are covered within the classroom and laboratory settings.
- Be available to provide students with academic guidance and support.
Clinical Supervision
- Supervise and oversee hands-on training in skills labs and designated healthcare facilities.
- Ensure students safely perform essential tasks, including bathing, feeding, and monitoring vital signs.
- Maintain the safety and well-being of both students and patients during clinical hours.
- Communicate effectively with clinical site staff and report any site-specific concerns to the Program Director.
Assessment and Reporting
- Develop, administer, and grade quizzes, examinations, and skills competency tests.
- Assess student progress through direct observation of clinical competencies and grading of assignments.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and clinical site standards in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Identify students requiring remediation and provide necessary support for their improvement.

- Guide students on career prospects and model professional conduct and ethics at all times.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and understanding toward diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Participate in institutional activities, faculty meetings, and program development committees.
- Maintain current state licensure and complete required professional development hours.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Licensure: Must possess an active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) license in the state of employment.
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a (SNF)Skilled Nursing Facility or chronic care setting.
- Educational Credentials: Possession of a specific Instructor or Director of Staff Development (DSD) Certificate, or the required set of hours in educational program planning as mandated by the state, and
(IP)Infection Prevention Certificate .
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, patience, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in a changing environment.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
