Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
2. Deliver patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection and documentation. Assist with various procedures, exams, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., tympanometry, spirometry). Maintain aseptic techniques during preparation, procedures, and medication administration.
3. Review payer reports and determine appropriate course of action for management.
4. Determine daily task priorities based on business and patient/customer needs.
5. Triage patients need and assign to appropriate staff.
6. Communicate with external entities as needed
7. Perform all insurance benefit investigations, review claim rejects, overrides.
8. Work with patients to find financial aid (grants, manufacturing programs, discount cards etc.) to ensure they have access to the medications they need
9. Provide direct support to patients to ensure that they are supported through their therapy regimen and achieve their intended outcome.
10. Serve as a liaison between clinicians, care coordinators, pharmacy, and assistance programs to ensure patient support throughout the duration of their care.
11. Create and/or maintain detailed resources and documents related to business operations and workflow.
12. Access, input, and retrieve information through the Electronic Medical Record and Care Management computer network to maintain accurate records.
13. Participate in scheduled department meetings.
14. Conduct outreach calls to patient and pharmacy staff.
15. Other duties as needed and assigned by the manager.
16. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
2. High School diploma or GED required.
3. Must be at least 18 years of age.
4. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen at time of hire.
5. The Iowa Board of Pharmacy Certified Pharmacy Technician License required.
6. 2-3 years of pharmacy experience. (Community, Inpatient, Ambulatory, Insurance. Etc.)
7. Knowledge of health benefit investigations, prior authorization support, patient financial assistance, medical terminology, diagnoses, and procedures
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
9. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records, health care payers, and specialty pharmacy operations is highly preferred.
10. Completion of Mandatory Reporter training for child and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire.
11. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
